Stickers
My Little Pony began in 1982 and while these ponies had brushes and ribbons, they did not have a sticker. The pony sticker would be introduced in 1983. These stickers were inside each ponies packaging along with a brush and ribbon. The stickers had a small image of the pony (often in the wrong colors), the My Little Pony logo, and the name of the pony. The stickers were round and puffy since they were filled with a thin circle of foam. I have heard that these sticker also had a scent to them... but I have no memory of it. I remember them smelling of fresh plastic. ^_^

In 1985 the round puffy sticker was replaced by a flat body sticker. These were printed on a clear piece of sticky plastic and could be removed again. These stickers were also supposed to have a scent (grape), but once again I have no memory of one... beyond fresh plastic. Towards the end of this year ponies began to be packaged with stickers that were not always their own. Which may explain why I have stickers for ponies I have never owned. :) This was the last year for the pony stickers.

Foreign Stickers
The pony package sticker was not an ideal unique to the United States. Many other countries also had stickers included in there packages. Some even had stickers for ponies that in the US, never had a sticker. I do not have a complete list of these stickers or any images of them.
