The Licensing Show Expo is an event where manufacturers set up exhibit of their new products for the year and retailers can examine those products to decide if they wish to carry that line or not. Some times Hasbro makes special ponies for this event.

In 2004 Hasbro made a special little pony in order to support the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving seriously-ill children and their families. They also held 'Pink Carpet' events to entertain sick kids.

In 2003-2004 the very first, known, My Little Pony charity auction was held by Barnardo's. Several British designers took typical 5 inch My Little Pony toys and created clothing or other unique items for their pony. These ponies were then auctioned on e-bay.

The San Diego Comic-Con is a huge event for comic characters and toy manufacterors. Hasbro has released several special edition Comic-Con ponies that can only be purchased at the San Diego event, or at Hasbro's online toyshop.

The Pony Project was an art showing in New York sponsored by Hasbro and Thunderdog Studios. Up-and-coming female artists from around the world were given a large blank white pony and allowed to customize that pony any way they wanted. Several exclusive ponies were made for this event.

Some fan hosted My Little Pony Fairs and conventions have been graced with their own exclusive little pony toys.

This is an annual Gala to raise money to benefit the Center for Children with Special Needs at Hasbro Children's Hospital. One year the theme was My Little Pony and those who attended received a special event pony.

A My Little Pony Live stage show called "The World's Biggest Tea Party!" and the pony items only sold at the event.

The American International Toy Fair is held annually in New York around winter time. It draws the biggest toy companies from around the world. The Toy Fair is a chance for toy makers to show off and promote their latest products. Sometimes Hasbro brings exclusive pony items.

Following the success of the earlier 2005 Pony Project Hasbro and Thunderdog Studio decided to have a second one in 2008 to celebrate their 25th year anniversary of the My Little Pony brand.

Another 'Pony Project' that occurred in the Netherlands to benefit Warchild.

This was another charity event where Mexican fashion designers were given a Stylin Pony Starcatcher to design and then the finished ponies were auctioned off to benefit Fondo Unido México.
