Background:

Following the success of the earlier 2005 Pony Project Hasbro and Thunderdog Studio decided to have a second one in 2008 to celebrate their 25th year anniversary of the My Little Pony brand. This special program was called, “The MY LITTLE PONY Project: 25 Ponies for 25 Years”.

25 special giant 18 inch pony figures were designed by celebrities, fashion designers, artists and My Little Pony fans. These ponies were then sold to benefit Give Kids the World Village, a resort in Orlando that hosts children with life-threatening illnesses and their families for a cost-free stay and visit to the Central Florida theme parks and attractions.

In September 2008, these ponies were auctioned off on the Charity Folks website (www.charityfolks.com) with the terms 'Item cannot be resold' listed at the bottom of the auction page. The proceeds of the auctioned items went to benefit Give Kids The World Village!

Unlike 2005, this new show was a one night event that you couldn't get into if you were not invited. The show was held Sep. 15 at New York City's Chelsea Art Museum.

British hipsters Mike and Katie created Tado to expand their graphic design passion. Their passion is clearly displayed in this fantastic piece for Hasbro's "My Little Pony Project!"

Adorned in some of the hippest colors and designs, Tado's "My Little Pony" stands at 18 inches tall, in contrast to it's traditional 4 1/2 inch toy counterpart.

Tado spans graphic design, illustration, animation, toy design and much more. Selected clinets include Honday, MTV, Volkswagon, Toyota, Nike, Sony, Microsoft, Adidas, Daimler-Chrysler, Capital One, British Airway and countless others!

Contest Winners

Pony Project Website - Contest Section

For 25 years, Hasbro’s beloved MY LITTLE PONY brand has brought fun, friendship, and joy of play to millions of little girls around the world. In honor of this remarkable milestone, Hasbro has offered MY LITTLE PONY fans, both kids and adults, the opportunity to experience all the magic and enchantment of MY LITTLE PONY by designing an original MY LITTLE PONY figure as part of “The MY LITTLE PONY PROJECT: 25 Ponies for 25 Years” collection. “The MY LITTLE PONY PROJECT: 25 Ponies for 25 Years” is an international collection of 18 inch tall MY LITTLE PONY figures designed by MY LITTLE PONY fans, as well as some of popular culture’s influential people and organizations. The promotion was created not only to be a celebration of the whimsical nature of the brand, but also as a way to support Give Kids The World Village, a non-profit organization that strives to provide magical memories for children with life threatening diseases. The winning designs from both the kid and adult categories will become part of the "25 Ponies for 25 Years" collection and will be unveiled at a very special gallery event this September in New York City. In addition to inclusion in the collection, each winner will receive a trip for two to New York City to attend the unveiling of their ponies at the gallery event plus spending money, a $500 US HasbroToyShop.com online gift card, and a special MY LITTLE PONY prize pack!

Children could color a blank My Little Pony Coloring sheet to enter this contest, while Children/Adults could customize a blank - normal sized My Little Pony figure that was only sold at HasbroToyShop.com.

Some/All of the children's entries were remade in 18 inch figures instead of the original coloring book images.
