My Little Pony - Special Mail-in Offers
On My Little Pony packaging there was a special stamp called Horseshoe Points
that if you clipped and mailed into the Hasbro Pony Points Program you could
get a pony that was only offered through the mail! Sometimes only the stamps
themselves were enough to earn a pony. Or, the stamps could be used to get
a discount on these exclusive ponies. Collectors were informed of these special
offers by inserts in packaging, through pony clubs, or through mailed advertisement.
Several ponies and playsets that were originally sold in stores were re-released
as mail offers, but I will only list them if there were big changes made.

My Beautiful Baby Pony - Ember, The Baby Pony
5 Horseshoe Points and $1.25 for shipping and handleing
Ember, My Beautiful Baby Pony was the first set of Baby ponies
and they were only available through a mail-in offer. These gals were also
the very first special offer ponies! They came in three colors pink, lavender,
and blue. You had to choose which color you wanted. None of these baby ponies
had a symbol but each pony did come with a ribbon.
These ponies were offered in a 1983 pamphlet as 'My Beautiful Baby Pony'.
At that time they had no name. These ponies were then offered in a pamphlet
as "Ember, My Beautiful Baby Pony." On the new 'Ember' pamphlets
a special sticker book for the display of My Little Pony stickers was offered
on the back of the form.
